Founded in 1867 to shelter Lowell’s aging mill women,
the Merrimack River Valley House is a charitable non profit
Level IV Rest Home licensed by the Department of Public
Health of Massachusetts.
We are known for our unique blend of Victorian ambiance, the
coziness of a small New England inn, the warmth of a family
home, and state-of-the-art professional care. |
Our founding mission is to provide a safe, comfortable, economical home for women
and to ensure their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
A century and a half later, we promise a quality lifestyle emphasizing optimal
independence, meaningful activity, friendship and companionship, comfort and peace
of mind for residents and their families.
Our skilled staff, Executive Director and our Board of Trustees are dedicated to
ensuring that each resident’s daily needs are met in an atmosphere as comforting as
her own home because people live longer, happier, healthier lives at home.
We would like to give a special thanks to our affiliates.
